Asphalt Crack Fill Repair

Cracks and separating joints begin to form as pavement starts to deteriorate over time. This is due to a combination of
fluctuating temperature changes, traffic pressure on the lot, aging and sun damage.

Why Crack Fill?

Joints or cracks in the pavement, if not sealed properly, will allow water, dirt, and other foreign materials to enter. As water soaks down through the unsealed cracks, increasing damage will occur during the freezing and thawing cycles. Allowing water to penetrate beneath the joint or crack will also displace the sub grade, which will cause further cracking and generally deteriorate the traffic surface.

How Do We Fix It?

Before we begin our work, we start by prepping the cracks. The cracks must be free of debris, dirt and foliage. Once the area is ready for sealing, we begin injecting 400 degree hot rubber into the crack until the crack is completely filled. This allows for a tight seal and stops water from accessing the sub grade through the crack in the asphalt.
